We Found Geography Makes Local Stations Different
Our Focus is to Preserve the History of All Local Stations and those Who Staffed Them

The Flame Represents the
Mission and its Core Values

Local stations began as educational
services created by individuals—engineers, producers, educators, and community leaders.Later, with passage of the 1967 act they became public broadcasters.
Now, the stories of the stations and individuals are at risk of being lost.
The Traditional Approach is Entertainment
The Jim Pagliarini interview is a traditional studio limbo shoot. It is a one-hour long Q&A by an off-screen producer. Since these interviews are considered boring, they are edited into various entertainment formats ranging from 1 minute to 8 minutes,These types of interviews are expensive and time consuming to produce.

The FCC licenses stations to specific state locales. Most stations perform community services and outreach that deserves to be remembered. The stations are the logical venue for curating their own local Legacy Interviews. Also, many state archives already house public broadcasting memorabilia including legislative coverage.

Beyond Broadcast Actitives

In the initial phases, TRAC will manage the storage of the Legacy Interviews while we work with stations to develop tools and internet infrastructure.
Because of the internet local station sites can be connected the American Archive of Public Broadcasting (AAPB) or other historical sites.
